Woah, Dude!

I've talked a bit recently about stumbling blocks. So today, on the other side, I'm looking at pit falls.  Trouble spots that we get into. Once again, I've researched* these, so you don't have to. Essentially, it's the "Woe unto you!" And if ya'll think it might help you, let's get into it!

Rabbi. Basically, teacher. But also, in a big way, leaders. Back in the day, they were influencers. And kids wanna be them some day. But Jesus was saying, avoid these titles. They do more harm than good. Celebrity preachers, musicians, many household names fit this label. But rather, we're to have one master, the Father in Heaven.

A theme Christ held to was not only missing the mark, but keeping others away as well. Next, the Pharisees did this by encouraging swearing on empty things. Your tithes, or God, or Heaven. But there's no power in vowing by power we don't have. Rather, we should let yes be yes, and no, no.

Wrapping things up, He also made a couple of pointed illustrations. A cup that's shiny outside, but filthy inside. And graves that are all dolled up and pretty, but they're full of rot and death. Alluding to misuse of temple funds. On the same note, we need to check ourselves, making sure we don't "Rob Peter to pay Paul." We have to have stuff to minister. But we gotta make sure that's our main thing. Not bigger screens and frankinsense cappucinos. God can feed multitudes with loaves and fishes. So we should give Him what we've got, and see what He does with it.

I hope that blessed you. For a little more, check out voiceintha on blogspot, facebook, X, and instagram       Thanks!
