Why a Loving God sends People to Hell

First, we need to discuss an uncomfortable truth. Despite arguments to the contrary, Hell is a real place, filled with anguish and torment, and separated from God. Not only does scripture affirm this, there are various contemporary stories of people dying, usually in sin, and witnessing its horrors before dedicating their lives to Christ. One of the most famous is Kenneth Hagin, but as this isn’t sponsored, I suggest you might do your own research. Essentially, it’s nowhere you want to go.

Something that not enough people are talking about, though, is that God doesn’t want you to end up there either. In Matthew 25:41, Christ explians that eternal fire was prepared for the Devil and his angels. And earlier, in Matthew 18:14, He said “It is not the will of my father that even one of these little ones should perish.”

Which brings us back to our question. Why? The reason that Satan is there is because he rebelled against God. And despite being condemned with all his cohorts, he led the first humans into the first sin. He wants to convince us to rebell like he did, and suffer like he does. And we may never know why.

But God made existence to be a certain way. And He is so intent that He applied the all-powerful aspect to walk among us for a while, before dying briefly to atone for all sin. Before you say that it was a hoax, or He wasn’t really dead, recall even one of those cases from earlier. It’s possible to medically die and come back, I’ve done it. And even without a defibrilator, Jesus is and was fully God and fully man. So, He brought himself back. End of story.

Except, not quite. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, anyone who accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior, and actually tries to live without sinning more, will be saved from Hell. Even the thief on the cross repented and was saved in his last moments. And for anyone who doesn’t wait that long, the Holy Spirit (also God) will help you live the right way. Which might seem like a burden, but it’s not only the original natural order, but as Psalm 16:11 says, in His presence is joy beyond measure.

I hope that blessed you. If so, please consider buying me a cup of coffee, to keep me going.
