What is Worship?

Usually, people in first world countries (And a lot of missionaries) mean music. Specifically, singing. But really, worship is a lot more. And that's why, I did some research, so you don't have to*. Hopefully, we'll better grasp just what to do. And maybe, glimpse the way the Father moves. So, in the interest of pressing through, let's get into it!

Straight out the gate, we should agree on what we mean. Worship is recognizing your fealty, or, dependency, on someone greater than yourself. If we're honest though, pride means we often worship, or at least prioritize, ourselves. Thinking we're better than everyone else. But maybe that's not what you do. Maybe you choose to worship your employer, or your nationality, or some other thing.

Which is why it's important to give God sovereignty. A more modern term might be supremacy, and while that might lack some things, it's the idea thats key. Worshipping anything else is literally idolatry. And yeah, it's easy. It might not even seem to be the wrong thing. But then, neither did eating an apple off a tree.**

So, what then? Well, singing is lovely.*** We just gotta be careful to pay attention. Becase, if your heart's not in it, it quickly becomes liturgical lip service. That said, God loves a true heart of praise, and there's courts in Heaven singing "Holy, Holy, Holy." to the end of days.

But wait, there's more! the Lord loves a cheerful giver.**** And first off, I'm gonna call that tithing. Because it's by our monetary gifts that churches live. And those two mites can multiply, like loaves and fish. So it's a sacrament of worship to remember who sustains us, that we contribute to sustaining the worship of Him.

And lastly, without any special fanfare or ceremony, we should worship with the way we live. By the way we dress, by the way we treat others, and frankly, by imitating Him. After all. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And I can't think of a higher form of worship.

I  hope that blessed you. For a little more, check out voiceintha on blogspot, facebook, X, and instagram.       Thanks!
