Thoughts on Thinking
When was the last time you thought about the stuff you think about? Kind of circular, I know. But it really is super important. Well, once again, I've researched this, so you won't have to. So, if you're prepared to ponder, let's get into it!
First up, the world fills our brains with Fear, Impulsiveness, Anger, Jealousy, and Lust. I ended with that last one because it wraps up most of the ones before with a longing for stuff you don't have. Which I probably don't need to dig into how destructive it is. Just looping around like a snake biting it's tail.
On that note, Luke speaks of blessings pressed in, shaken together, and running over beyond measure.* But how do we move from toxic thoughts to a healthy mentality? Well, for starters, Paul encourages us to be like children about evil, but mature about other thoughts, like whatever is pure, holy, good, and so on.**
Elsewhere, he recomends singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.*** This does two things: It renews your mind, of course. But it also means that your focus will be on worshipping and glorifying God.
And that brings us to the ultimate solution. The Holy Spirit is our perfrct comforter and counselor. As far as that's concerned, Jesus said that the Father will give good gifts to all who ask. And I can't think of anything better than that.
I hope that blessed you. For a little more, check out voiceintha on blogspot, facebook, X, and instagram Thanks!
