Music to my Ears
The Psalms talk about making a joyful noise to the Lord. But only rarely does that say sing. Sometimes praise is great, but sometimes it's just inappropriate. When that happens, it's a good idea to "Play on the many stringed instrument. Or at least, listen to people who do. As to why, I've done some research, so you don't have to. So, if you're willing, I'm able. Let's get into it!
Remember how Jesus said, "If these don't praise the Father in heaven, the very rocks will cry out?" This implies that everything, ever, wants to worship. It might not always happen, but even a turntable, used correctly, can glorify God.
Additionally, it's great for prayer. Stuff without vocals can set the mood, and yet not be distracting or confusing. Because we all need a little help getting our minds right at some point.
And last of all, it's almost never a problem. Of course, there's moments you just want quiet. And that's great! But other times, you need motivation, or a backing track. And maybe, you wanna focus on Him too. For times like that, I recommend tracks like Still, by Rivers and Robots, or If. You by Young Oceans. Or Ellie Holcomb has a beautiful rendition of Psalm 23, Svrcina made an instrumental rendition of There for You, and Hillsong has versions of Pursue, along with several others. But whatever you choose, there's something just right of this type made just for you.
I hope that blessed you. If so, please consider buying me a cup of coffee, to keep me going.
