Sci-Fi Stuff

I couldn't think of a catchy title, but maybe that's okay. In any case, this will continue my quest to find the very best of pop culture. Because, it's a sticky mess out there. Which is why I'm dedicated to researching stuff, so you don't have to! Some  titles might be older, but that just means you haven't seen 'em! So, thrusters on full, lasers on stun, and let's get into it!

1. Stargate:Atlantis

An extension of the 90's movie ( Or really, the spin-off show.) This series features the usual team of scientists and soldiers.. But this time, they're on a deserted planet, made of water, and threatened by alien monsters. From here spiral loads of adventures, filled with wholesome mysteries and exitement. You can rent on Youtube, or Amazon Prime.

2.  Starman

A classic from 1984, this one shows the power of good writing beyond special effects. It focuses on a widow who finds a stranded alien, and helps him reach his destination, it becomes a road-trip srory about two lost people finding each other. Emotional and inspiring, while also exciting! You can find on Kanopy or Tubi.

3.  Space Camp

A parent's nightmare, I used to wish this would happen. More to the point, a bunch of campers visiting N.A.S.A. in Houston tour the shuttle, but get stuck before it accidentally takes off! From there on, they have to learn to work together with each other and with mission control to get back home. All around, a lot of fun. Available for purchase. But if you find streaming, lemme know!

4.  The Portable Door

Definitely Sci-Fi, but super original. A young engineer/inventor is struggling with student debt, and yet, unemployment, when he stumbles into an interview he didn't arrange. Somehow, he gets the job at a very exclusive firm. There, he finds a door that goes anywhere, along with a massive conspiracy. And that's just the setup. A thrilling, if madcap adventure. Watch on Amazon Prime, Youtube, and more!

5. Innerspace

An adventure on multiple levels. First, a test pilot gets shrunk to microscopic to be injected in and treat a patient. But when industrial spies come for the shrinking tech, he finds he can influence said patient's actions and protect his job. Slapstick excitement ensues, and a generally good time. You can enjoy it with Youtube, Apple TV, and more.

I hope that blessed you. If so, please consider buying me a cup of coffee, to keep me going.
