Life Goes On

Everyone goes through stuff. If you don't, you're dead, and someone else is going through stuff. But if you're still here, there's a lot of shows about getting there, that just feels good to watch. And as it happens, I researched a few, so you don't have to. Perfect for a cozy night in,or battling depression. So get comfy, grab your snuggy, and let's get into it!

1.Bonanza Among the earlier series, though not the first, this show certainly helped shape the genre. Our main character is a widowed cattle rancher, raising his three sons while single handedly running the Ponderosa. With an ever present tug at heart strings, the episodes cover misadventures from haggling with commanches, to making Christmas happen. Full of smiles, warm fuzzies, and just a hint of adventure.

2.A Family Affair Changing things up a little, this one features a wealthy engineer, who's children die unexpectedly. Leaving him with custody of his grandchildren. As an older bachelor, his style is unique. But going through the highs and lows of childhood, it's an unexpected match made in heaven.

3. My Three Sons Similar to those, but different enough, here we have a widowed engineer, struggling to raise his titular three sons. Helped by a cast of characters like his live -in housekeeper. One of the most notable features is the way that cast evolved as the story progresses, while still remaining familiar and comforting.

4. Julia This one covered a lot of bases. Diahan Carroll plays Julia,a black nurse, who's husband was a pilot, shot down in Vietnam. Now, she's starting over, raising Corey while starting a new career and adjusting to a new neighborhood. Heavy emotional beats are down played by cute moments with either her boy and his friends, or a tough as nails head nurse. Much like life, except everything always works out.5.

5.The Ghost and Mrs.  Muir The running theme with these seems to be death of a spouse. Still, there's a comfort to the formula. In this title, a widowed writer tries to start over in a coastal New England town. She gets a job with a local magazine, but options for housing are limited. So she moves into a haunted house, being a rational modern woman. Except, the ghost is only too real. And oddly enough, they might be just what the other needed. Heartwarming and fantastic, in every sense.

I hope that blessed you. For a little more, check out voiceintha on blogspot, facebook, X, and instagram       Thanks!
