Laws of Love

Interesting, right? But honestly. In our Christian faith, there's long been a principle that true love must must possess four qualities. And it just so happens they've have been given titles beginning with F. I'm not gonna tell you just yet,  but I researched them, so you don't have to. This is gonna be good.  So, if I haven't turned you off just yet,  let's get into it!

I picked this to go first,  because while there are all important, you usually start here.  For love to be real, you have to choose it freely. Both people involved. Because love is a series of sacrifices you both make, resulting in a better life for both. John 13:1 says "Greater love hath no man. " And since our love imitates perfect love, we have to keep choosing to lay down our lives.

2.Full

Next, it has to be full.  Because,  its easy to make a free choice, and then back out halfway, or when they don't meet our expectations.  But then, everything falls apart,  and that's not love.  Yes,  its hard. But 2nd Corinthians has a famous love litany,  that talks about how it always hopes, always forgives, and on and on. But the beauty is, that works both ways.  If its really love,  they'll put up with you too.

3.Faithful

This one might be kinda obvious.  Everyone wants a love that will stand by you,  rain or shine,  every time.  But we also all know,  it doesn't always work like that.  Especially in today's world,  where "love is love!" So,  you do you.  That leads to a lot of people who pick up stakes when they have a bad day. Which is, actually,  part of life. I never said these were easy, but true love stays for the long haul.

4.Fruitful

And finally, fruitfulness.  A lot of people say that this means people in love have to want kids! And while they're on the right track, not all fruit is children.  Some couples can't conceive, or have medical complications.  Some are destitute and can't afford it.  And some are on second relationships, and can't reverse sterilization. These are just a few reasons, but they don't cancel out love. Maybe they go on mission. Maybe they write devotional best sellers. Maybe they adopt!  But if you want true love, work and pray for God to give you these qualities.

I hope that blessed you. If so, please consider buying me a cup of coffee, to keep me going.
