King of Glory
We always use that verse, "I have called you friend." And while that's true, more than this, He's sovereign. But how can we remember that when we treat Jesus like our buddy? If that's a little tricky, I've done some research on it, so you don't have to. So find a quiet, respectful moment (If you can.) And let's get into it!
Firstly, He's our savior. Which may seem obvious, but it gives Him the authority and ability to fully restore what is lost. He commanded demons to be cast out, and they stayed gone. He healed, and the sick stayed cured. Satan tries to remind us of past failures. But who the Son sets free is free indeed.
Along with that mercy, His authority lets Him pass judgement. Aside from rampaging in the temple, He chastised priests and forgave sinners. The parable of the talents to show just how exacting He is when it comes to managing His affairs, especially those He entrusts to us. So we should honor Him by using our gifts wisely.
And lastly, He has authority to fulfill prophecy. Not only is Jesus God, whose word "Doesn't return void," He is the fulfilment of prophesy going back to Genisis 2. When Eve was promised that her descendant would crush the serpent. So whatever way you look at it, everything comes down to Him. And that means He deserves all honor and glory.
I hope that blessed you. If so, please consider buying me a cup of coffee, to keep me going.
