After the End

  The end of the world is pretty heavy stuff. 4 horsemen, lotsa fire, and let's not talk about the flying scorpions. But after all the noise and madness, a new day will dawn. And it's gonna be awesome! For your convenience, I did the research.* Because it's more than just streets of gold. And if you'd like to know, let's get into it! 

Back in Isaiah, he spoke of how "The cow and the bear shall graze."** Which might seem unnatural, but maybe it's how things were in the garden (of Eden.) But either way, it points to how creation will finally be at peace. Isaiah used several examples like this, such as the better known, "Lion will lay down with the lamb." However you slice it, nature living comfortably with itself, and people "Learn[ing] to make war no more." just sounds good.

If you've watched Good Omens, you can tell the big difference between John Hamm's Gabriel and Michael Sheen's Aziraphele. Or, if you've no idea what I'm talking about, that's okay too. It was just an example. But for starters, lose the whole baby with wings image. There's none of that. The few times we see, "The Angel of the Lord" it's like a strong man. Later, Ezekiel's Seraphim have faces like animals*** and are flanked by, on all accounts, what resemble flaming sea anemones. Not exactly Bill and Ted's Rufus.

There also won't be any more Sun. Y'all better enjoy star gazing, because things aren't looking too optimistic for that either. And I read somewhere that the Moon is actually going to be destroyed! Not to worry, though. Revelation says we won't need them, due to the glory of God. Which is already everywhere, all the time. So, that's pretty cool.

Then, in the middle of everything, we have the Tree of Life. *** Some say it's, like, a metaphor. But folks, I'm skeptical. For one, there's no "Like unto," or "As though it were," like other metaphors. Plus, after everything else, one tree bearing twelve fruits doesn't seem far fetched. And it's leaves have medicinal properties? That's super sweet! What I'm getting to is that, while Heaven's gonna be neat, it won't be like anything we've been led to believe. (It'll be way better!)
