After Here

Frankenstein has been talked about for years. After that, Metropolis and BladeRunner, Flatliners and The Matrix. Because people have always wondered "What is being human?" And, "What else is there?" Christians have known about souls and heaven for a long time, but I did some research, to compare. This might be nothing new, but then, I might surprise you! Either way, if you wanna find out, let's get into it!

So, at the end of Frankenstein, Victor(Frankenstein) dies, and his creature mourns him.* This says how it's pointless to play in God's domain, but also, how created beings grow to understand their weakness, and love for their creator. But as for the truth by comparison, Job said to God, "I have uttered what I did not understand. Things too wonderful for me." Job 42:3. Which seems like an understandable reaction, since whatever we are or have, He gave us. Like, David said, "Let Kings and all people...praise the Lord, for His name alone is exalted." Psalm 148:11-13. And whether Shelly knew it or not, all creatures live in awe of Him.

And we're just getting started. But Metropolis and BladeRunner both think about souls (Flatliners too.) So I'm gonna dig into that for a bit. In Metropolis, it was Rotwang, and in Bladerunner, it was Nexus-6** But both ask the question, "What is it that allows people to think, feel, and love?" Which might be going off into left-field a bit. Except, the Bible once again answers that! In the first chapter of Genisis, we're told that "In His image, male and female, created He them." Which is to say, we're creative, because God's creative. We're emotional, because He is. We love, because He loves. And it doesn't take a Voight-Kampff test** to see that we're fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 149:14)

Now, if you've seen The Matrix series, they play with "What is human?" a bit with the whole Agent Smith storyline. Which could become it's own article. But for today, Imma focus on what they focused on. A world beyond what we can see. Namely, Zion.*** In the movie, it's where everybody wants to be. But most of what we really see are raves in caves, and maintenance tunnels. Which, okay, looked like fun. But really? We're talking about a whole other world. One where Isaiah says, "The Cow will feed with the Bear... And the Lion will eat straw with the ox."Isaiah 11:7-9 Which sounds like peaceful safety to me. And Joel talked about "The mountains will drip sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk."Joel 3:18 And that sounds like we'll have plenty of all we need. But remember, these guys had to use metaphors, because the stuff that's coming is more than we can ask, hope, or imagine. Eph. 3:20.

hope that blessed you. For a little more, check out voiceintha on blogspot, facebook, X, and instagram       Thanks!
