5 Instrumental Artists
Yes, I made a tiny change to my title. It used to say Electronic Musicians. But honstly, I’m not sure everyone's read this before. So I’ll just tell you what this is about right away. Today, I've researched Electronica, so you don't have to. I enjoy these artists, and this one has been in the works for some time. Of course, none of the artists have sponsored me, but if you want, you can contribte down below. Now, sit back, feel the rhythm, and let’s get into it!
1 Ratatat
I’ve been listening to this group the longest, so that combined with a techno-rock sound make them a staple of my sound. Based in Brooklyn, and performing since 2002, they’ve developed a unique “voice” that consists of solid bass beats, with higher notes and different percussion essentially dancing along that bottom riff. It’s everything the genre should be. A personal favorite is Loud Pipes, and you can find their music on Audio Dregs, Rex, or XL Recordings, or on Because Music
2: Yoshida Brothers
Not only because they’re Japanese, these guys are unique in several ways. Their work is called “Tsugaru-Jamisen,” a tradition going back centuries. They also combine this with western instruments, and synthesizers. They also happen to be the only brothers on this list, and they’ve been performing together the longest. The combination of elements results in powerful rhythms, and every song is invigorating. A persoal favorite is Morricone, and you can find their music on Domo Records.
3: Lindsey Stirling
Starting on the internet in 2009, she has since released several albums commercially, made various television appearences, and regularly performs live, all while maintaining her original platforms. She rose to viral fame by inventing her trademarked brand of “dubstep violin.” Also, because she performs live or on camera, she came up with a dance style that incorporates everything else she does. This girl is the definition of multi talented. A personal favorite is Crystalize, and you can find her music on Concord Records, Lindseystomp Records, or BMG Music.
4:Emancipator
The stage persona of Doug Applong, Emancipator is based out of Portland, Oregon. With only four complete albums, he has released more singles. In an iteresting style turn, his work can be energetic, but it’s always contemplative. Making it an ideal soundtrack for, really, anything. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, but everything he records has electronica at it’s core. If you don’t know what to listen to, turn on Emancipator! A personal favorite is Safe in the Steep Ciffs, and you can find his music on 1301 Records, Loci Rcords, or Hydeout Productions.
5: Lullatone
Another Japanese group, but this one’s a unique husband-wife duo. Together since 2005, each had been performing and studying since the 90’s. While critics describe their music as childlike, I find the melodies soothing, and innocent by comparison, if somewhat refined. Although, the down tempo nature makes it better for reading or solving puzzes, not really energetic stuff. A personal favorite is Music for Museum Giftshops, and you can find their music on Audio Dregs, Darla, or Chilldisc Records.
I hope that blessed you. If so, please consider buying me a cup of coffee, to keep me going.
