5 Fresh, Funny Shows

I honestly enjoy writing lists. And while that might shift, I hope you guys enjoy having one place to find all kinds of awesomeness. So, today I thought I’d give you my wisdom about sit-coms. In case you’re new here, these shows haven’t sponsored me. I just do all the research, so you don’t have to. Well. If that’s enough explanation, saddle up folks. Let’s get into it!

1: Briget & Eamon

An under appreciated gem, this show started in Ireland, in 2016. It’s a traditional single camera show about the titular couple, their 6-10 kids, and the village of friends that surrounds them. These include Jimmy, head of the local I.R.A. terrorist faction, Concepta, Doreen, and Father Gabriel. That last one behaves a bit queer, but aside from giving fashion advice, is never realy sacreligious. All in all, a good laugh, if you’re not touchy. 7 of 10.

2: Overlord and the Underwoods

Also a single camera show, but this one gets a bit more zany. It’s about a typical suburban family of four. Living with the space vilan who landed in their backyard, and his robotic minion. Overlord comes to appreciate his hosts, but still tries to conquer and dominate. Especialy that kid across the street. Hijinks and manic adventures ensue. 8 of 10

3: Corner Gas

Breaking from the pattern, this show has a whole camera crew. Ironic, because it’s about a small town in Canada, and what goes on when “Nothing ever happens around here.” The pivotal characters own the gas station and the diner, which are where everyone hangs out. Misadventures include a different caller on Bingo night, or a new crosswalk disrupting traffic. Which is actually super entertaining! If only because you love the town folk. 9 of 10.

4: The Red Green Show

If you thought the last show was small, you haven’t seen anything. Somewhere in rural British Columbia is the location of the Posum Lodge. A hideout of manly men, looking for refuge. The motto? “I’m a man. And I can change. If I have to. I guess.” Come along and sepnd a day with Moose Thompson, Stinky Peterson, and Old Bill. Oh, and honorary member, Red’s nephew Harold. Silliness, surrounded by slapstick. 10 of 10

5: Studio C

Named for the place with the stage where it’s based, this show’s all about sketch comedy. Made at and for B.Y.U, it holds to a standard of wholesomeness, while being patently hilarious. Some of my favoites include the phliosophical security system, or any bit they film live and unrehearsed. Some of the musical numbers are fun too. 7 of 10.

I hope you enjoyed this, and that it blessed you. If I should write about anything, tell me! wildvoice@yahoo.com And for more good stuff, check out
